    ronald ajavonDear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to bring to your attention some key information for the successful continuation of our school year, as we close this week without school during which staff was on leave.

Principals and school staff will resume their activities in telework mode (working from home) as of today. Schools and the head office will remain closed to ensure the effectiveness of efforts to counter the spread of COVID-19. If you wish to communicate with the school, you can do so starting today, by calling your school’s regular phone number.

This week, school staff will plan virtual educational activities for your children, which will be delivered starting Monday, April 6.  Before then, teachers and educators will communicate with the children on Wednesday, April 1, based on a schedule which will be given to you.

    CÉF’s educational services provision plan

    March 19, 2020

20200317 ronald ajavon webDear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to bring some clarification as to what drives CÉF to put into place the best educational services it is able to provide students under current circumstances. There are almost 4 months left in the 2019-2020 school year. Much learning remains for students as they prepare for next year and, in some cases, for their journey into post-secondary studies.

The Ministry of Education has requested that all school divisions pause students’ educational activities over the coming week, in order to allow school staff and families to adjust to the new reality. The week-long break will also help counter the spread of COVID-19, thanks to social distancing.

The Government of Saskatchewan has announced this morning that all schools are to be closed. CÉF will therefore implement these directives and schools will close on Friday, March 20, until further notice.

With the cancellation of parent-teacher meetings on Thursday, March 19, parents will have the choice of keeping their children at home that day, or to bring them to school where they will be under teacher supervision during school hours. No school transportation will be available on Thursday.

    Monday morning update

    March 16, 2020

20200317 ronald ajavon webDear parents and guardians,

We recognize that the increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases this weekend raises several questions and concerns. CÉF is in constant communication with the Ministry of Education and follows the recommendations of Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer regarding school closure options.

We expect everyone who is not feeling well to stay home and monitor for possible symptoms of COVID-19. We also invite parents to continue to report their child’s absence from school.

As a precaution, the parent-student-teacher meetings that were to take place on Thursday, March 19 are postponed to a later date.
